At least I understand it in practice. Just when it's all thrown at me at once like this my brain seizes up. When I was taking the final exam I had thought about giving up, but the thought of dolphins helped me remember why I was taking the test in the first place. ^_^
You have to have a general idea where you are on the chart so you don't turn into more rocks. :P The best thing to do is stop.
That happened in the Caribbean. We were bearing on Brothers Rocks. We got so close we could see the battery pack on the light. Francis was like "uh, helmsman..." While we were rying to figure out where we were. ^_^
