Lyrin and Lorza,
The Beacon and the Blaze,
To destroy with the fire,
Or have it light our way?
Guardians of the Flame,
will they ever be the same?
A couple of years ago I wrote a few fantasy novels. While writing the lore for the world they were set in I created a few religions, two dietes who always stood out were the sisters Lorza and Lyrin; the Beacon and the Blaze. Lorza, the black cat, used fire to destroy and burn. Some even say her black fur was caused by her leaping through the flames. Lyrin, on the other hand, was more interested in the fire of lamp lights and campfires where people would gather to share stories. Thus Lyrin became a spirit of revelry and song, it was common to refer to those who were drunk as 'dancing with Lyrin'.
I might try drawing some more dieties or lore from that fantasy world, I do fine myself missing it now and then these days.
