Im not sure it this can be considered an species, but I did have this idea to make a new kind of dragon, known as the Clockwork dragons or "CW-D" For short

Can go without food/water by winding there clock heart gears up to one hour at a time.

Shooting a concentrated heat beam to that of laser via maw.

Sex/gender less, default male yet can choose freely.

Advanced Clock hearts.

Created from classified metal that is heat/water proof, light weight yet bullet/ sword proof.

Lore-

Coming from an alternate time line where dragons and humans co exit in the Holy Roman republic. Formally known as the Holy Roman Empire that did not fall yet changed with the Pope now being its papacy president. Napoleon was burn to a crisp before having a chance for conquest, and his dragon counterpart the same. With needed extra protection, the humans and dragons collaborated a new line of protectors for the pope's new republic . With there advanced minds, they created the Clockwork Dragons (or CW-D's ). Automatons to protect there leader in the vatican.

There are two types-

Standard ones: CW-D's who fallow orders without question via cardinals or the Pope. No imagination, creativity and null. Usually as protectors or guards.


Exceptional ones: CW-D who show great creative ideas, self aware and independent thinking. A very rare event that happens 1 in every 100. Can choose to be a guards for the pope or leave to be on there own with full citizenship as normal humans or dragons. Weather it be there advance technology or them having a soul remains unknown.


Di'Glock, an Exceptional CW-D that is unsure if there is a higher being out there. Comparing evidence and hypotheses ideas in philosophy that clash with the papacy. With drawing design ideas to pass the time that later become his inventions later down the line. Like making a jet engine powered via corn oil to fly at high speeds out of curiosity. Can be frustrated and unsure of him self, but can be a lovable sweet heart when the time calls for it for his friends. Even if some don't understand him.
