I think it could use more emphasis on melody than just the repetitive drumming. It kinda feels like it's not really going anywhere. The melody at 1:48, I find, is nice, but too short and too quiet in the mix.

Enjoyable for a MIDI, but could use some improvements. :3

That's better than what I thought...
I originally wasn't gonna post this because, I really don't like it.
But I figured I might as well.
I'm actually surprised you noticed the melody in there at all... I could have done much better.

Well, I think that the "base" of this piece is a rather solid one. It just needs some strong melodies that really stand out, especially as this is a boss theme. Maybe throw in cymbals and some different drums here and there.
