Kandy hopped up the snowy mountain, unperturbed by the frigid temperatures and snowy cliffs. As she ascended the mountain, she thought back to the conversation that brought her out here in the first place. Wolfie had said something about a creature even bigger than she was, going on about how she would be incredibly interested in meeting this... thing. He kept calling it a "Hylund", whatever that was. Ya know, now that she thinks about it, that was probably the creature's name, not its species... Regardless, she hopped on, softly scoffing to herself.
"Even if such a creature existed, it HAS to be a plush of some kind! I've never seen a creature from this plane that even comes CLOSE to towering over me. I even dwarf some bears!" Kandy said to herself with a giggle, bouncing up to another cliff. "Although, I have to admit, it WOULD be nice to talk to Wolfie again and figure out what this thing is. But I have no cell service all the way up here."
Before long, she found herself outside the mouth of a giant cavern- It looked natural, not a single tool mark could be found. Unless maybe it eroded over time. Bouncing into the cave, she shook the snow from her sweatshirt and tail.
"Whew! That was quite the trip..." she mutters, brushing the snow from her arms.
She was just about to check her phone again when she heard it. Low, loud wheezing... or... honking? It kind of sounded like a squeaky toy, but REALLY big and also with a broken whistle; or one of those bizarre wind instruments with the collapsing middle and the piano on the side.
"Hello?" she called into the darkness. She heard something moving. Something... big. And wheezing, and... kind of like someone dragging a burlap sack against the stones. A shape moved in the shadows, growing bigger. Bigger. Bigger. Before long, it was easily 30 or 35 feet tall. Kandy began to back away as the shadow loomed over her. As it leaned into the light, she could make out a pattern on it's body not dissimilar to flannel shirts, and a huge set of claws. She swallowed when she made the chilling discovery that despite its main body being some kind of fabric, its claws were NOT plastic... Or metal... They looked like bone.
She had to crane her neck to look all the way up at the beast's face. A scaly snout emerged, followed closely by a silvery claw as it rubbed at its eye.
"Ach... I really oughta install a doorbell..." the beast muttered before yawning and looking down at Kandy. "Oh, you're new."
"What in Tailor's name...?! W-What ARE you?"
The beast resembled a dragon... Sort of. If a dragon was wearing some kind of plaid... suit? It idly scratched at its side before laying a hand against its huge belly and a long, high pitched wheeze... No, not a wheeze. It was more like a honk...? A parp? Whatever it was, it made some kind of noise not unlike an instrument.
"Straight to the point, eh lass?" it said with a tired smile, "Not even a hello?"
