Well this didn't take me long to do!
So anyways here she be! Big Thunder Mt. Railroad & Mining Co. #1!
And honestly I have to admit that this has got to be the cutest little loco I have EVER drawn! As previously stated, in one of my journals, this was bassed/inspired by someone else's On30 model. But it this one was compared to the "Prototype" there are some clear differences. The stack will be from a Railmaster Exports' 2-8-0 kit. They model Sn3 scale so the proportions of their parts will look great for small On30 locos. The saddle tank will come from, obviously, a Bachmann On30 Porter. Not quite sure how I will make the cab. I may use the Bahmann 0-4-2 porter cab as a base and work from there.
The chassis will come from the Bachmann HO scale/gauge 4-2-0 Norris loco. Either the "Lafayette" or the new "Pegasus" loco. And like these locos they will be tender driven. The real challenge will be installing DCC and Sound! Well if they can do that in N scale locomotives I certain that it can be done with this one! I'm also tinkering with the idea of adding "firebox flicker". Still pondering on how to do it though.
And for you enjoyment I added a small bit of fictional history to the picture. If there are any "Historical Inaccuracies" please let me know and I will correct it ASAP.
Also I have yet to decide a name for this engine. I thought about calling it "Tuco" (pronouned "Too Coe") after Clint Eastwood's "Buddy" in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". But it just doesn't seem to fit right. I might just name it "Atticus", a friend on Deviant Art, since this looks VERY much like something he'd come up with. And #1 also looks like something right out of Walt Disney's imagination!
Well I hope you all like her! It was incrediblely fun to draw! Color version soon to follow!

I'm thinking about doing it with most of my loco drawings now. At least the ones for the BTMt. RR.
Though I need to make a few revisions. I meant to say that she was BOUGHT by the BTMt. RR. in 1871, not built. She was bought second hand by some long forgotten RR company. ^^;
