This is my entry for the next Dreamland Art Show, which is tomorrow. The theme this time is, "Pet Show." So I figured everyone would be painting pet portraits and such, and I wanted to do something slighty different..
... so I depicted a scene from One of Edgar Allan Poe's stories, "The Black Cat."
Here you see the character's cat, Pluto, hung from a tree due to his trip down the long road to insanity and delirium. Fun times!
Oh, and he only has one eye due to the fact that the owner gouged out the other one.
This is all water color paints on water color paper.
Oh and if you didn't notice, the area in which Pluto is painted is not the original paper. I messed up big time at first, and cut out that area, and glued another piece behind it... I think I did pretty well covering it up... haha.
I sort of went for a Stephen Gammell feel, which i sadly failed at. I guess the feel i was going for was using the negative space as the image.
