That same article also cited Dr. Piranoid's furry fetish. Admit it, the guy seemed to get off at the weird mutants he would create. He'd marvel at their bodies and their abilities with no remorse that he ruined their lives. So here he is... doing that.
I also wanted to tie up a loose end. What happened to Lena? Again, this show was not very big on female representation (they were trying to sell shark action figures). The Sharks did have two human friends, Bends and Lena. Lena disappeared from the show long before this episode. It was almost like they wrote her off and thought no one would even notice. Since she was a former student of Piranoid's, I had my own ideas for how she would have fit into this. Enter, the 5th Shark... "Basking Case"

yeah I guess he was a lot of fun in how he found any excuse to start mutating people. also one of the most excessive badguy designs. bald AND an eyepatch? we get it dude you're evil (I guess they could have been more over the top and given him a white eel or catfish to pet, but they probably didn't have time to do so lol)
