Ariana has spent years in foster care and it seems like their is no out. Right as her life seems like it can't get worse, Ariana meets a fox named Inari. Inari is intelligent, mischievous, able to speak and more than willing to change her life. He offers her a gift, life as a vixen, if she wants it.
I wrote this story with two goals, finish it in ten days and in under 40 pages. The 40 pages thing I failed miserably at, but I did finish it within ten days. Never done a fox before, the idea actually came to me in a dream believe it or not. I hope you all enjoy this, let me know if you want more from me.

Humans, not having heat cycles, always have swollen breasts. As such since she was more human at that point, she would as well. Yes I have studied biology, I'm weird like that. But if humans were like animals, women would have flat chests most of the year. I included this because it was a little biological fact that amused me.
In the US, you need to be 21 to have alcohol. Paul may be drunk as a mephitic weasel, but he's certainly not an American. What country does this take place in?
Did you know that raccoons are technically mustelids, as they are part of the superfamily Musteloidea? And so are red pandas! (We ringtails are superior, though. )
Shame Paul won't be joining them, considering his appearance in the other story. I think it would have been fitting for him to join them as a fox.
I enjoyed this story much more then most, I think. Having the open-ended ending with Ari maintaining an honest choice of returning to humanity or not was refreshing, and I'd like to think she too would eventually garner magical power and become a full kitsune, maybe get some shape shifting at will going.
Overall, this one hit the mental transformation themes and the struggle with instinct without going too far into a bad end, which I appreciate.
