Even though it’s called a “speakeasy”, Xyk still needs to watch his mouth. Not everyone appreciates coyote antics, especially after a swig of “Old Hag”.

Thankfully, his old pal Balto has his back. Yeah, go get ‘em buddy! Endurance! Fidelity! Intelligence!

Wait, what? Okay okay, but two out of three still ain’t bad! Right pal? *nervous laugh* Right!?

AAAGH!

This was a Christmas gift commission for  Balto, brought vividly to life by the ever-impressive  Retehi . It was inspired by my love for Prohibition-era storytelling and, to no less degree, Tracy Butler’s must-see comic “Lackadaisy” ( http://www.lackadaisycats.com/ ). Plus, I just love the idea of Balto traveling the States after his heroic serum run in 1925, which yes, puts him posilutely in the days of Chicago typewriters and blind tigers! As an added gag, there’s even a bottle of “Balto Heroic Lager” (a real beer, in fact: http://www.beerlabels.com/labels/la.....den-lager.html ) hidden somewhere in the scene. Points to those who can find it!
