Thank You For The Day
The original piece (titled Gratias Deo) was a two-part choral arrangement for Soprano and Alto, composed by a woman named Mary Lynn Lightfoot. Later, it was turned into a three-part mixed addition, which I had the pleasure of performing way, way back in junior high.
I still love the piece and its melody, which led me to try and arrange it symphonically. Of course, being me, I tuned out the woodwind section and tuned up the brass and strings. Couple that with various percussion instruments--in this case bells, timpanis and a vibraphone (Gotta love that vibraphone)--and you have a full-sounding, rearranged musical composition.
Bear in mind that the ending still needs work. But for right now, here it is.
