Rica stands tall and confident with a posture and balance that speaks of experience and combat training. A veteran of one real war and one mockery of a peacekeeping exercise, Rica always has a drone hovering over her shoulder and a smile that says she'll happily take you out, be it for a drink or of commission.
Hired on originally to fill a much needed gap on the crew with her technical expertise and engineering experience, Rica works hard and with pride to keep the Vainglory in as near to pristine condition as possible. Much of the ship and the crews personal equipment has felt her touch and been improved for the customizations she's made.
Taking her flock of drones with her on missions, Rica provides small-arms support with their inbuilt weaponry and when the situation allows it, delights in using their explosive charges to cause immense destruction. Unfortunately the nature of their work means she rarely gets to cut loose.
Backstory
Rica was born into a war between her worlds two major powers, and her youth was full of propaganda and the certainty that she'd join the front line when she came of age. Showing technical aptitude and a flair for remote work, she quickly progressed into the drone services branch of the military after her basic training. Surviving and earning several distinctions in the war, Rica found it hard to adjust to civilian life and signed up for a second tour.
The peacekeeping operation she was sent on was a farce, a bloody invasion in everything but name. Eventually Rica made her complaints heard with the detonation of several 'enemy' drones during a night raid, scrapping an entire armored advance and costing her all of her limbs. Though she had not expected to survive, Rica took the honorable discharge and stock-standard replacement limbs as she left to try and find her place.
Signing up with the Vainglory was exactly what she needed, the crew accepting her quirks and helping her work past her traumas while giving her an outlet for all the things she enjoys in life. The paydays that let her upgrade her limbs and drones are icing on the cake.
