As Grey got ready for the new day, Benjamin paced around the living room, clearly unhappy that it was his turn to be w/ Grey for the day. Vicky, Oliver, Ash, and Pete were all on a mission that day and so that just left Cedric, Benjamin, and Cherry to watch over the home.
"Aw, what's wrong? Scared of being w/ Grey?" Cedric asked him mockingly.
"I'm not scared, you bastard! It's just that I don't want to deal w/ that fucking weirdo!" Benjamin said frustratedly.
"Hey, don't you go calling him a weirdo!"
"Well, how else am I supposed to fucking describe him!" Benjamin said.
"Puta, he might be weird but he's great little fucker. I mean, at least he isn't a rude ass dick like you," said Cherry who was watching TV in Oliver's place.
Benjamin threw his hands up in the air and groaned. Just then, Grey walked in.
"Welp, like it or not, now it's your turn to show him a good time shithead," said Cedric w/ a very "You mad bro?" type of face.
Benjamin just fixed him w/ a VERY triggered face.
"FFFuck you," he said as quietly and as angrily as he could.
"Hey buddy, Ben here is going to be w/ you for the day. Benjamin is going to show you what he enjoys doing and I hope you too can get along and be best friends! You understand?" Cedric said in a tone that made Benjamin want to lose his ish and rip the demon's vocal cords out.
Grey nodded and looked towards Benjamin who had a very salty expression.
"Bye, you too. Have fun!" Cedric said as he walked back down the hall while Benjamin flipped him off. He then looked at Grey who looked back expectantly.
"Shit, I guess we're doing this," Ben muttered under his breath.
He walked over to the kitchen w/ Grey in tow.
"Ok, since I'm not good at cooking like my brother, I'm gonna whip us up some shitty sandwiches for breakfast," said Benjamin, who was already at the kitchen preparing the lazy sandwiches. Grey, of course, sat at his usual table spot. After a couple of minutes, the sandwiches were ready. They were simple ham-and-cheese sandwiches and nothing more. They weren't even toasted or grilled.
"Here," said Ben as he handed Grey the effortless sandwich. "Don't expect it to be that good."
Grey bit into his sandwich. It wasn't as good as the cake from the day before, but Grey much preferred this simple sandwich because he felt comfortable around Ben and because this meeting didn't feel fake or terrible. Grey ate the sandwich w/ gusto and relief.
"Well damn, that sandwich couldn't have that good!" Ben said, staring in disbelief.
Grey finished the sandwich and looked at Benjamin expectantly.
"Hold on, I'm not done w/ mine yet!" said Ben.
A couple of slow minutes later, Benjamin finished his sandwich, got up, and made his way over to the hall w/ Grey in tow. They stopped in front of Ben and Pete's room.
Benjamin sighed. "Here we are, the shitty room I share w/ my twin brother. But you already fucking knew that so let's not waste any more of our shitty ass time than we fucking need to."
He opened the door and stepped in. Grey, remembering his experience from yesterday, hesitated as he stared fearfully at Pete's side of the room. Ben came back to the doorway w/ an eyebrow cocked.
"Um, are you coming or are you going to make my ass wait?" Benjamin asked, annoyed.
Sorry, I had a pretty bad experience w/ your brother yesterday, wrote Grey.
Benjamin gave him an incredulous look, "How in the FUCK could you have a bad experience w/ Pete in ANY sense?"
Grey was about to write about what happened yesterday, but he remembered Pete's threat and he decided against that.
Um, never mind, it wasn't THAT important! Grey wrote hastily.
"Riiiight," said Ben skeptically w/ his arms crossed, "Well, come on, I want this stupid ass day to end quickly, so come on."
Benjamin went back into the room. Grey, hesitating for a bit longer, slowly stepped into the room again, this time though, he went to the left side. This side contrasted pretty heavily w/ Pete's side as the coloring was very monochrome as opposed to the bright colors of Pete's side. Instead of silly objects strewn about the side, different clothes that were all monochrome were hung neatly on weird, metallic-looking things. Ben's bed, upon closer inspection, was somewhat huge, had a large black blanket neatly draped over it, and had a big white pillow. There were odd-looking black papers on the walls, similar to what Cedric had in the room that he shared w/ Grey, except these papers had wildly different designs from Cedric's wall papers (Ben's were black and white of course). Near the papered wall was a black clothing box thing that had white sections and it had a weird beige thing on top that had a needle. Finally, there was a large, circular table in the center. Yesterday, Grey had thought that the table was fully black, but upon closer inspection, the front half was black while the back half was actually white.
"Welcome to my shithole. Sure, it's pretty noir/1900's up 'til the 30sesque, but I don't fucking care. It's one of the few things that makes me somewhat happy," said Benjamin w/ a hint of dejection in his voice.
Grey, surprised at that last sentence, was about to ask what Benjamin meant, but Benjamin stopped him.
"Don't ask. Let's just get this shitty day done and over w/..."
...
The day was very much like the one Grey had w/ Pete, except it didn't feel fake or horrible. When Ben made Grey try on clothes, unlike the terrible experience that was trying clothes for Pete, Grey felt good as he tried on Benjamin's clothing despite its strangeness. The beige thing, as Grey came to learn, was known as a sewing machine, which is something used to make clothing. Benjamin, somewhat reluctantly, showed Grey how to use it. It was weird at first, but Grey got the hang of it quickly and enjoyed it (Grey actually saw a ghost of a smile on Ben's face from time to time). For lunch, they had sandwiches, except these sandwiches had weird shapes and they had some weird orange stuff between them. Grey tried one and he LOVED them! He then started to eat the rest of his fast.
"You actually like them? They're a type of sandwich that Cherry taught me how to make. This is the first time I've made them in a long while," said Benjamin, trying not to smile.
After lunch was done, Benjamin's face grew serious.
"If I were to tell you something personal, would you be able to keep it to yourself and not tell anybody?" asked Benjamin.
Grey, confused, nodded.
"Are you ABSOLUTELY sure?"
Grey nodded again, his curiosity peaked.
"Ok, well for one, I'm sorry for being so rude towards you. I just really didn't want to fucking deal w/ a new person and you seemed too dopey for my liking," Benjamin said genuinely.
I didn't find you to be too rude. In fact, I quite like you, wrote Grey w/ a small smile.
Benjamin gave a look that was both a bit sad and a bit happy.
"Really? Well, that means a lot to me," he said.
Benjamin then looked around suspiciously.
"For this next part, I need you to keep this to yourself. DO NOT let anyone else find out about this."
Grey nodded, really curious now.
"I'm... I'm depressed..." said Benjamin sadly.
What do you mean depressed? asked Grey curiously.
Benjamin sighed.
"It's mean I have a condition that makes me incredibly sad, hopeless, agitated, etc. Sometimes, it's not so bad and I can get through the day just fine. Other times, I don't want to get out of bed. Sometimes, I can hide it well. Other times, I want to just curl up and cry. There are even times where I just want to end it all... Don't ask what that means."
Grey just looked at Benjamin, speechless.
"My shitty attitude is just a facade. I use it to make sure I don't seem weak, pathetic, or just plain vulnerable... The only things that make me somewhat happy are making clothes, hearing even the smallest bit of praise, and these guys."
At those last words, Benjamin summoned some white, squarish things that were similar to the wicked square things that Pete had summoned the previous day. These ones were very different from Pete's though as they had weird hats and more derpy expressions.
"These little marshmallow guys keep me company when I need it. They have a good vibe, they're great for hugging, and, best of all, they don't judge me for my flaws and they're always happy to be w/ me," said Benjamin as he hugged one.
The rest of the marshmallow guys went over to Grey. They immediately nuzzled into him and Grey couldn't help but smile as they felt so soft and happy.
...
After that vulnerable moment, Grey and Benjamin continued their time together, now w/ the marshmallow guys assisting them. They had fun together and there were times were Ben made odd sounds that sounded happy. When Grey asked what those sounds were, Benjamin replied that they were laughing sounds, which were sounds that people made either when they were really happy or amused. Eventually, their time together was drawing to a close.
"Welp, it's almost time for dinner. It's time for the part I've actually been looking forward to. The fight. Don't worry, you only have to survive my battle for 2 minutes and I'll stop if I go too far," said Benjamin as went to the other side of the room. He then pulled something from his pocket and pressed something on it. From the walls, some parts slid back, and out came weird black box-like things. Grey looked at Ben, confused.
"I like to pretend I'm performing for an audience, darling," Benjamin said w/ a pretty sad look as his eyes glew a strange, dark blue.
FIGHT START!
(Song: Lone Digger Nightcore)
Benjamin swept his arm up which caused three dark blue discs to appear. The discs flew forward in all sorts of directions and Grey had a bit of trouble avoiding them, especially since they ricocheted off the wall for a bit too. After they disappeared, Ben jumped up and swept his arm down to make three more discs appear. This time, however, Benjamin went directly to Grey as he swung a fourth disc at him. This proved to be too much to dodge though as one of the rogue disks grazed Grey's torso. It hurt quite a bit and, not helping matters, Benjamin smacked Grey directly in the face w/ the fourth disc. Grey got smacked into the wall and his health was down to 64%!
"Oh God, that might've been too far," said Benjamin as he made the extra three discs disappear.
When Grey got up, Ben sighed.
"They really should've taught you how to attack," said Benjamin while shaking his head.
Attack? Grey wrote.
"I'll tell you after the fight," said Ben.
He then rushed again towards Grey. Grey, more prepared this time, dashed towards the wall and dash-jumped up it. Benjamin, not an idiot, jumped up w/ his disc held his above head. Grey, unprepared for this tactic, got hit by the disc and fell, his health dropping down to 55%.
"You need to be ready in case your opponent decides to aim an attack at you while you're on the wall," said Benjamin as Grey got back up a bit shakily.
Benjamin then threw the blue disk at him. Grey tried to jump over it, but the disc clipped his ankles and fell again.
"You weren't taught how to fucking duck, were you?"
What's that? Grey asked.
Ben groaned. "You get down on one knee. That's all there is to it."
Benjamin threw another disc. (Press down to crouch). Grey got down on one knee and he dodged it just fine.
"Welp, it's been two minutes. You did pretty shittily, but I'll give a pass since I've lost interest," said Benjamin w/ a dejected look.
VICTORY?
Ben sighed dejectedly and went up to Grey. "Before we go to eat dinner, please, I beg you, please DO NOT tell anyone about my depression. The people who know about it are my brother Pete and, now, you."
Don't worry. I won't tell anyone, Grey wrote.
"Thank you...," Ben said sadly.
He then breathed in slowly and then exhaled slowly.
"Ok, let's get the fuck out of here and go eat out shitty food," Benjamin said, putting on his fake attitude again just like what Pete did yesterday.
Grey and Benjamin stepped out into the hall.
"Again, please don't say a word of what I told you in there to anyone. I'd rather be seen as an asshole than as someone weak and pathetic," said Ben to Grey.
I understand, Grey wrote.
Benjamin took another deep breath and let it out. He then walked Grey over to the meal table. Cherry and Cedric were eating while Vicky was there sipping from a cup.
"Sup shitheads," said Benjamin.
"Oh hey putas. How'd it go?" asked Cherry as she ate a sandwich.
"It was fucking shit like how I predicted," said Benjamin.
Ben and Grey went to their table spots. There were bowls of dark liquid w/ food in it in front of both Ben and Grey.
"I made both of you soup," said Cedric, who was also eating a sandwich.
Benjamin slurped his soup. Grey tasted it. It wasn't the best thing ever, but Grey thought it was fine.
"So, how'd it go for you, Grey?" asked Cedric as he finished his sandwich.
It was quite pleasant actually. I enjoyed my time w/ Benjamin, wrote Grey w/ a smile on his face.
"The fuck, did he drug you?" asked Cherry w/ an eyebrow cocked.
Grey looked at her, incredibly confused.
"Cherry!" shouted Cedric angrily.
Cherry, for her part, just shrugged.
"But did you have a good time for real though?" asked Cedric curiously.
Grey nodded.
"Well, I won't pry any further," said Cedric as stood up. "I'm going to our room. See you soon, Grey."
As Cedric left, he gave Grey a wave and a smile. Grey couldn't help but smile and looked away as his face felt weird. After that, Grey then looked back over at Ben. Ben's expression was a mix of coldness and sadness. Grey, not being able to know how to fix Benjamin's issue, decided to write down something nice for him. After Grey wrote it down, he tore the page up, crumbled it, and gave it to Ben. Benjamin gave Grey a confused look. Grey just gave him a small smile. A few minutes later, everyone left the meal table and got ready for bed. When Grey got into the room he shared w/ Cedric, Cedric was already asleep. Grey, kind of exhausted, slipped into bed and fell asleep.
...
When Benjamin stepped back into his room, Pete was already in bed, but he was still awake.
"So, how'd your day go, sad boy?" Pete asked w/ a giggle.
"Shitty," replied Benjamin asked changed into his pajamas.
"Well, goodnight, Sir Cries A Lot!" Pete shouted as he drifted off.
Ben sighed, wishing his other half would stop w/ the sad jokes. After Benjamin crawled into bed, he pulled out the paper that Grey had given him.
Benjamin, I truly enjoyed my time w/ you. You were a great person to be w/. I don't know how to help w/ your sadness, but I do sincerely hope that you can find a way to feel good and happy. Also, your clothing, while strange to me, felt amazing to wear.
Benjamin looked at the paper, speechless. Tears welled up in his eyes. No one had ever said something so kind to him before. He then curled up and cried himself to sleep, both out depression but also, for the first time, joy.
