The base was custom made for me by omegafluff
Gaistori Deriti are by far the most common type. They make their homes in large, lush forests and jungles. Colonies of up to 50 Deriti live together in huge interconnected treehouse villages. The houses are simple platforms made from strong branches, vines, and clay all connected by thin but strong bridges with curtain-like walls made of hanging vines and leaves.
These Deriti flourish because of their strong belief in the importance of family and kinship. They are a very close knit group. In a Gaistori Village, every Deritix knows every other Deritix in a personal way. They find mates the fastest and breed the most frequently even having entire festivals devoted purely to attracting a mate or distributing Egg Totems.
Common traits for the Gaistori Deriti are basic hooves, medium length silky mane and wolf-like tail. Some can have longer manes and the longer horse-like tail, though it is a bit less common. Much more rare, but not unheard of are Gaistori Deriti with Aquatic traits such as Fins.
Gaistori Deritis’ magic centers around Water and lesser Life magic. Almost all of them can control plant life in some way and use it extensively to create their villages. Water Deriti typically use their magic in defense of their homes by hiding the village in a thick mist or fog if need be, or even summoning surges of water to repel invaders. Rarely, Gaistori Deriti gifted with destruction magic are born. These Deriti are tasked with encouraging the natural decay of things in the forest and are treated with great respect.
