I fave this on the basis that it is masterful, lucid, fantastic, incredibly well-written and nothing short of the quality that is expected of you. I want to slam you over the head for the stereotypical attitude that bats are blood-suckers, and the fifty or so in my attic wish to dissuade you of that attitude.

Maybe I should arrange a protest march outside your college?

Interesting. The little piece makes me ask more questions than what it is able to answer. Also, very nice take to the whole prompt, incorporating both sunrise and sunset into one story. Good writing, over in all, I enjoyed reading this very much. Good work. Keep it up.

I really liked the POV from a bat that uses echolocation. Very neat. Oh, and baby bats are referred to as pups not kits. Other than that, very nice little tale.

Really? I searched for "baby bats are called" and got "pup or kit". :P I should have looked more closely at my sources.

I could've seen kit if they were fruit bats (since flying foxes are fruit bats. Kit -- fox.) But since they're blood suckers I think pup is the better fit.

It's actually looping around. I was starting to drift towards bats in another series I was doing...this might be an attempt to restart it. We'll see.

Water clocks use slow drips of water instead of sand...they're usually not meant to be carried around.
