Yeah, but it was actually an anime, a character that I really liked ended up dying in a painful. Instead of fighting the damage so he could heal, he just let himself die instead. But there was still so much unresolved problems he could have solved if he had lived, like apologizing to his sister for accidently hurting her with his powers when he just Now finally learned how to control them. When the main character cried over his death, I started crying too, it was so heartwrenching.
