Rick watched as the worker walked through the gates and disappeared behind the walls. He then sighed and looked down at the tarmac beneath him. It was then he heard the sound of an engine vrooming next to him. He looked up and saw a Parnia Ubberlink standing next to him.
“853…not one of ours…You new here?” The Ubberlink asked Rick.
“Yeah, transfer,” Rick replied.
“Ah, good, a new liver to help us with our services.” The Ubberlink said. “My name’s Cadell, and if you haven’t noticed, I’m a Parnia Ubberlink.”
“Rick, Ennivo 200,” Rick replied. “I’ve been moved here because I wasn’t really…”
“Ey, move into the yard with me and you can tell me the rest then,” Cadell said as he slowly drove forwards.
The two buses drove past the garage and arrived in the yard. It was quite empty, and only three buses were in it.
“It’s a busy day today, and the manager has managed – no pun intended – to get almost all of us out,” Cadell chuckled. “Anyway, you were telling me about why you got transferred here?”
“I kept fighting with another vehicle of my type, and the manager decided to move us to different garages to solve the problem,” Rick said. He then sighed a little. “I’ve never been moved to a different garage before. All I’ve known is Kirkingham Central.”
“Homesick are we? Ey, you’ll get used to it after a while. I’ve been all over the map me,” Cadell said. “Gordesly, Barnsnett, Calsall and Tromwich here.”
“Take it you’re not popular with other livers?” Rick muttered.
“No, I just get moved time to time, like any other bus here,” Cadell replied. “I try to make friends whenever I move to another garage, as it helps me fit in more.”
“Ah…friends…right,” Rick quietly said. He thought about Toby for a moment and sighed unhappily.
“We’ll talk later tonight if yer’ wanna, but right now, imma’ rest these treads,” Cadell said as he reversed into his spot for a nap.
