When lapis was a young little hatchling, she has been living on the streets in the empire's capital city. When she was five, she would start pickpocketing and steal food from the food market to keep herself going since no one took care of her by that point. When she was around thirteen, she would commit more serious crimes like robberys. She became a bandit and works for a group of bandits when she was sixteen and would rob incident people from there money and food, she would also do heist as well but she always had a code to not kill innocent people which not made her a very popular within the group of bandits she stays with. One day the bandit camp she lived in gets attacked by leon Dakota, this was the first time she ever saw a kosmisuro, she notice that leon never even killed anyone during the attack but instead destroy the tents and defence walls by setting them on fire, this caused the bandits to not have any more supplies or protection for them to continue on with there crimes.

After this happend she decide to follow leon who ended going to a fort fill with who she believed was a type of rebellion much like the one rebellion in the plain lands biome. She was immediately captured when Leon's soldiers discovered her spying on the fort, she didn't fight back when they captured her and thrown her or even punched her a few times for questions. Leon came to talk to her, himself to question her.

She told him that she wanted to join his army and fight with leon but he didn't trust her as he thought that she could of been a spy trying to gain Intel. Leon was about to let her go but is interrupt by the empire that's trying to attack his fort and leaves her in the cell for now so he can defend the base. She manages to escape the cell by lock picketing it with pieces of broken chain that was in the cell. She heads outside to find the battle happening, leon was always defeated and almost killed by a very strong empire brute, before he can give the killing blow to leon, lapis stabs the rhino in the neck, killing him instantly.

After the battle, lapis still wanted to join his army, leon decide to talk to his fellow commanders on what to do, after sometime they agree to let her in the army but under strict ground rules. She is not allowed to know the battles she's going until the battle is about to start, she may not leave the fort at all unless it's in battles, finally, she's mist be kept close eyes on all of the soldiers. She agrees to these terms and she becomes a part of Leon's army, and as time goes on, she becomes a captain and still works for the army as one of the few soldiers in Leon's army that is not minded control.
