Hyenas in the wild are nothing but thugs and bullies. Case in point: a hyena tried to steal food from 3 lionesses instead of waiting until they were finished like all the other sensible carrion eaters. The lionesses naturally batted if away. So, instead of just writing it off as 'lesson learned' this little punk barks for the rest of clan and attacks the lionesses in the dead of night. Oh, yeah, real upstanding group they are.
I understand that. And that may be true, but in terms of Anthros, that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. I know my character wouldn't do things like what that gang did. But I understand. I'm not saying you shouldn't have made the gang a bunch of hyenas, I was just saying they're giving a bad rap to the good ones.
Yeah, I know. I have a friend whose an anthro. But, like all species, everybody has their bad apples. And because hyenas are thugs and bullies in the wild, it seemed natural that they would be the ones to beat up someone weaker. I suppose I could have gone for lions or even ferrets, but the Cutthroat Cackle just sounded too good not to use. ;)
