Full background commission for of herself in feral form hunting a red crowned crane. Whenever Glowstickk commissions me, she gives me lots of breathing room to try new things, and this commission was definitely no exception. First, the style - something akin to traditional japanese art fused with my own style. Not something I've really ever done but as soon as I saw the piece it was inspired by I wanted to try it out! I also tried something new with coloring, a couple things actually that I'm hoping I can slip into my work more often. I used mainly watercolor pencil this time, with only a small bit of copic, to get a softer, less saturated color palette, and also did a very colorful gradient in the distance instead of natural colors like I'd normally do. The effect is much more dramatic and damn pretty to look at too so I'm pretty happy with it. n_n
