I was there at the beginning, I watched you grow,
From something small and harmless and reaching for the light of Sol,
At first all you needed was the light, the minerals, the roots,
I thought you'd be content with that...what a fool.
So many mouths now, you cannibalize yourself as you rocket towards hell,
You'll do almost anything to win and in the eye of your maelstrom I lament again,
Love is bait and whatever it takes is the edge of the sword of hate,
Life and death the traitor's wake,
I see you, yes I do, you're a ball of flesh in the belly of a crocodile,
And every time I put away my nine and pull not the trigger I'm in denial.
Gravity, space, time, the energy...we're all in hell show your teeth in your smile,
Heaven sent the mortal mile, bark into the wind vanish in the mire.
