A bit of a doodle for my Omnai setting. This in particular is within a system where the parent star had long since expired and collapsed into a white dwarf. Originally, the space station was established as a mining outpost before the resources on the gas giant's moons dried up. From there, it served as a research base for scientists interested in the science behind dead stars, and then was abandoned for a couple hundred years save for some pirate groups in the sector moving in and out. The station was designed in this particular way due to the behavior of early non-centripetal mechanisms for artificial gravity.
