i always loved that part of the proper monster movies where they do that slow reveal and try to ingrain the concept of "you have zero chance to win" into the viewers mind. now it's all blurry-fast with musical crescendos every time it strikes. cheap trickery. well, i guess with keaunu reeves and nick cage starring these days, the monster overshadowing the stars is a major issue.
