I admit, the more I look at your pictures, the more impressed I am. Kudos :)
Also, I just noticed that you seem to use nondigital ink/markers for your pictures... so, further kudos :)
Myself, I'm still at digital ink, though I am(albeit slowly) trying to practice more nondigital inking.
And a third kudos for proper Lovecraft refferences ;)

Well, with a tablet it helps, but unless you own a cintiq you have to stare at a different surface than the one you are working on.
I'd say both mediums can be considered equal. For example I consider myself quite decent with graphite in RL mediums.... but there are a lot more stuff I wishes I was capable with non digital work.
