I didn't want to go the typical horror movie route where the characters are just bumbling around into their doom and only survive by pure luck or sudden genius. I think having some capable people that actually think before they do something is a nice fresh wind in the genre xD

The convenience of two characters being in the Special Forces is getting a little ridiculous. I mean why couldn't Jesse's boss just be a trained gun user that actually knows how to handle a fire arm? Actually come to think about it, why couldn't Ms. Penning just use Jesse's phone to call all of her trusted contacts? His phone isn't jammed and ruined like hers.
You are right, and I think I'm going to retcon this a bit. This is the problem with a story that is planned week by week for a while and then you want to turn it into a cohesive thing xD I have several plot holes to fix. It's the nature of experiments, I guess.
