Obscure character is obscure!
Hiero is actually a character that is in the same circle of friends as Boko and Anthicus...but I have never been good at drawing this character so I've never done much art of him. It seems everytime I do draw him, I've learned a few new tricks and he looks a little better each time...but it's a slow evolution. Hopefully one day I'll nail his style proper.
Hiero is designed to be a lot more alien than the rest of the crew. And a bit creepy. But I am not the best at drawing that.
I don't expect this one to get a lot of favs. Poor lil pillbug butt, he gets no wuv. *laugh*

I decided to try and create hiero in spore with mixed results http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry.....t-500587534434 . Unfortunately I think I failed.
That face says it knows it will get little wuv, hehe. Grumper buuuuuuttz. Actually, I'm not sure which pair of eyes is real or if both are.
But really, wow, quite an interesting creature you've got there. Like... some sort of bunny tentacle hooved thing. I can see why it'd be difficult to draw.

It's great to learn through getting a character down, even if it does take a lot of time.
An interesting design, and I don't mean that in a negative way. If anything it make me curious, how it moves, communicates, eats, and such. Like that you've worked in hooved feet without making the legs terribly insectoid. Fat and fleshy comes to mind, and that's pretty unique as far as alien -characters- go. (Disregarding alien -creatures- which takes the worm/larvae approach sometimes.)

Does he have a mouth? If not, how does he eat? Does he talk telepathically? Can the snake on his forehead move independently.... hmm... how about those tentacles? Does his species use the tentacles as hands since they are quadroped, or do they rely on magic? Its a neat design, I'm curious.

well it's hard to make something creepy when you draw it so smooth...
my thoughts:
hooves are too shiny. creepy creatures don't have anything shiny
too well-rounded chubby and too large of a head. these features are trademarks of cute creatures. if it's supposed to have fat, then it should be flacid

I'm actually quite fond of this guy. He reminds me of something that may have been in RLH and a little bit of Elcor added in to it with the seeming to have no mouth thing. Or maybe protoss.
Is this dude psychic or does he emit frequencies to talk or what?
I can imagine what the instruments for this guys people would be. All strings and percussion with no woodwinds or brass or things that require something to manipulate an air stream.
