The Seriedoc are supposedly a Star Trek civilization that had risen over a thousand years ago and collapsed for mysterious reasons. They left fragments of immense spaceships drifting in space, each the size of a small asteroid. They gradually rose from a dark age to space travelling status again, but know very little of their previous civilization. The "schooner" illustrated is a relatively small, personal craft, lightly armed, rather like a large shuttle. Unusually, the bridge is the lower deck.
