The main characters live in the Republican Kingdom of Räviania, originally founded in an old underground military installation located somewhere near the border between Sweden and Norway that was abandoned by the humans many years ago and later become the world's largest fox den.
(With regard to vulpine security, I will not reveal the exact location.)
The wolves live in what they call "The Wolf Empire", but in reality, it's just an old paper mill in the middle of nowhere, abandoned by the humans over 50 years ago.
The wolves have been at war with the foxes several times in their attempts to conquer Räviania, but they were both outnumbered and outwitted by the foxes.
