The following is a bio card for one of my recurring villain characters, the undead specter once known as 'Kasumi'.
Kasumi was a Saurian ninja, part of the same clan as Hakari and formerly Cadmus, but unlike them, he believed in everything the brotherhood stood for, and was a star pupil who carried out his orders to a tee. For as long as Hakari could remember, Kasumi was always a bully to him. Ever since they were hatchlings, Kasumi would mock and belittle Hakari, even beating him up on multiple occasions being, in his mind, so weak, yet having the audacity to call himself one with the Saurian Blade. To say that Kasumi had a bit of an ego would be an understatement. The constant praise and adoration from both his masters and his fellow ninjas went straight to his head, causing Kasumi to think he was utterly unstoppable...
...Unfortunately for him, he was dead wrong...
Long after Hakari had been exiled from the clan and years after Cadmus went rogue, Kasumi had become the clans go-to ninja assassin. He was the one they always sent on the toughest missions and he'd always carry out his orders flawlessly. Well, one day, the brotherhood sent him after an entity tied to a series of strange phenomenon that had caused several cities and villages to just vanish off the face of the map. The brotherhood suspected this being was responsible or at least connected, and naturally, they sent their best ninja to bring the masked fiend to justice...
...That being was 'Seven', who, with no effort whatsoever, literally tore Kasumi to pieces while he was still breathing. The very last thoughts that entered Kasumi's brain before Seven's scythe did, was the realization of just how truly powerless he was against someone or some thing like Seven, and how utterly terrified he was in his final moments.
Unfortunately for him and the brotherhood, death wasn't the end for Kasumi.
Seven resurrected the young ninja he had just obliterated, warping him into a corrupted husk of his former self, still retaining that egotistical personality, but now twisted into something much more malevolent. The undead ninja now seeks vengeance against the very clan he devoted his life to serving, for sending him to his death, and, in his now twisted mind, turning him into the monster he has now become...
Some tidbits:
- This is my headcanon boss theme for Kasumi, which, upon listening to, was the entire inspiration for the character in the first place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etrD70dMKBI
- Kasumi is sort of the Bakugou of my story, someone with a huge ego who thinks he's better than everyone else, only his story took a much more morbid turn when that ego cost him everything.
- Kasumi's body can twist and turn into impossible proportions, allowing him to crawl on walls, ceilings and wrap himself around his enemies like a spider.
- Kasumi now possesses a sliver of Seven's shadow powers, allowing him to summon shadowy tendrils from the ground to ensnare his victims or slash at them like razor sharp blades.
- Kasumi's body can now take an ethereal form, allowing him to fade like mist and reappear behind someone, or bleed through walls, phase through attacks, and so on.
- The blackness around Kasumi's arms show the extent of his ties to the Abyss. In contrast, Seven's entire body is engulfed in that same blackness. In terms of practicality, it allows Kasumi to turn his fingers into shadowy blades, cause tendrils to shoot out from his hands or even create shields to momentarily protect himself.
- Kasumi can only be momentarily immobilized. He cannot be killed or rendered unconscious. Crush every bone in his body and he will slowly pry himself back up in place or find a way to pry himself loose, but it won't hurt him in the least.
- Even in his undead form, Kasumi retains his arrogant personality, just with a twisted, darker spin, and when confronting Hakari, he still taunts and teases him like he's still that same bully from Hakari's youth. The only difference is, Hakari feels nothing but sadness for what Kasumi has been reduced to.
- It's unknown how much of Kasumi's darker thoughts and intentions are even his own anymore and not just a byproduct of the Abyss corrupting his soul and his mind.
- Like Hakari and Cadmus, Kasumi had a true Saurian form, but he was resurrected in the form he had upon death. He didn't live long enough to shift forms and try to fight back against Seven. However, with enough focus and power from the Abyss, he CAN still transform into an undead version of his Saurian form, but doing so takes a toll.
- Like all Saurians, Kasumi possessed the ability to devour many targets whole in his Saurian form. Being undead, if Kasumi were to devour anyone, his stomach wouldn't digest them as he no longer possesses a digestive system. Rather, the Abyss itself would steadily absorb them from within Kasumi, using him as a vessel for shadowy tendrils to assimilate whatever Kasumi consumes. Because Kasumi no longer possesses hunger at all, he would only devour someone as an act of cruelty.
- Kasumi is a slave to Seven's will, but his warped mind has him convinced that he is in absolute control, and that Seven is only telling him to do things he wanted to do anyway.
