Well I'm guessing that it's Sonic & Knuckles. I didn't see a # in the titles.

the main differences between the two are that all the level from the other game are playable S3 to S&K were suppose to be one game they added a hyper sonic power up tv box and they added a addition 7 super Gems of that of the Chaos emerald super gems are S&K levels while chaos emeralds are in S3 levels but you have to get them in order S3 -> S&K oh and your also able to play as knux in S3 Levels

oh and i forgot to mention that your able to save your game now (you couldn`t in S3)
