Man, if there was one show I can say I absolutely adore in recent times, it's Bluey. I never would've guessed a kids cartoon featuring box-shaped dogs would be anywhere on my radar last year!
For anyone out of the loop, it's a slice-of-life kids show from Australia. But it's one of the rare shows that passes the "Older folks can get something out of it too" test with flying colors.
In fact, if you were to hit up certain social media circles, it seems like some parents love the show even more than their kids do! And a lot of that is thanks to the parental characters who are far more present and competent than your usual TV parents (especially the dad!). I think it's just refreshing overall to see a sincere TV family that's not overtly patronizing nor dysfunctional.
I could gush on and on about the show, but I'll just say for now that episodes "The Weekend" and "Takeaway" are great places to start (majority of the episodes are fun, though).
If you can avoid it, save "Sleepy Time" for last. It's arguably one of the best episodes that hits harder once you're invested!

If you told me Bluey was conceived by someone who watched Peppa Pig until it made him rage, I'd believe you. And you have the right of it: The biggest difference between one and the other is in the parents, both the way they are depicted and the way they are treated.

The new #1 for explaining to doubters why I love it is "Pavlova". The use of French gives it stealth humor, and the gag at 0:20 is so unexpected and pulled off with such great comedic timing that I literally laughed until I threw up the first time I saw it.
