Drawing short muzzles is indeed a pain, partly because all the lines you had to include on long-muzzled critters eitehr disappear or are very deemphasized.

First, maintaining a consistent nosepad-size is difficult; they often end up too small. (Compare images 5 and 6)

Second, the curve of the muzzle is hard to convey, often making it look like the nosepad is recessed and/or the front of the muzzle (upper lip) slopes back rather than the usual forward. (Image 7)

Third, keeping the chin visually in the right place (point of the chin behind the tip of the nose, not under or ahead of it) is also hard to convey. (Images 1, 7)

That being said, these are some mighty good sketches. 2 and especially 4 are particularly nice :)

I have to say, your work with expressions is spectacular. A lot of emotion gets through on them. :3

I like how you brought over the divoted tail of the official female pikachu sprite into this. Most people ignore the gender differences because they're so minor.

Your talent with drawn facial expressions reminds me of what I love about cartoons.

All of the heads look a bit wide, but that might just be the style. Like, the eyes appear to be way too far apart.

Also, a pikachu with it's tail down looks kinda funny, since they seem to nearly always have their tails up, like a squirrel.

but ya they do look off but i think its only cause you are use to her having a bigger muzzle then these sketches.

Is something I need to get used to I think. It will probably take a lot more attempts at headshots before I have something I'm satisfied with.

Wouldn't a Pikachu have rodent dental structure (giant incisors) instead of feline? Just an observation. Love the expressions. Last few do well for her shorter muzzle.

I like the oversized cheek patches, and the female kink in the tail-end is a nice bit of attention to detail.

She's always been one of my favorites among your characters, but I'm loving her even more after this redesign. The new face is so... Expressive.
