Zavrina had a problem in that shi had no outlet for hir pent up rage. After hir parents sent hir back to Terra shi found that shi was a good chakker player. Not pro level, but good enough for the college league. It didn't hurt that shi was nearly two meters tall and had incredible jumping ability.
