As part of an attempt to fight that burnout I've been struggling with for months at this point, I decided to scratch two creative itches at once--a desire to have a Starfarer avatar/alternate fursona for myself, and wanting to draw more chubby subby guys--and this was the result.

Meet Domec, a maintenance guy assigned to an old starcruiser orbiting a mining colony on some wild planet in some backwater part of Lightbearer Dominion space. While little more than a janitor and cook, he often makes supply runs in his shuttle, zipping back and forth between his post and the Dominion capital world, Inansianna, to pick up parts and supplies that aren't worth bringing the entire cruiser back into core space or sending out a large transport over.

As for why he's saluting, but kneeling and in his underwear... that's just the pose I wanted to draw, but I was able to come up with a possible explanation--it was supposed to be his day off, or he wasn't expected to be on duty until later in the day, but his commanding officer barged in while he was relaxing in bed with an assignment for him, startling him and making him roll out of bed...
