Davina lived in an abusive household in the slums, her parents gave her little attention other then to physically abuse her. As she grew older she saw this pain they inflicted on her as their way of showing they loved her. So she inflicted it back and killed her parents, she gained a bit of a thrill from it as it felt good. Maybe that good feeling was from finally killing the ones that caused her so much pain, but she took that as killing made her feel that way. She fled her house and would sneak into houses committing murder, when one night a house she entered had another killer in it. This one was wearing an old trench coat that had some creepy looking hood on it. When she confronted him with excitement he vanished in a shadow before she felt a pain in her shoulder as he appeared and stabbed her in the back. Instead of crying or trying to run Davina laughed and fought the man, once he couldn't shadow travel anymore she killed him and took the coat. Happy with her spoils she left to go find more things to keep her entertained.
Unlike Daevi, Davina will use anything as a weapon, even a gun. She is very much still a mortal being and can't survive a fatal wound. But this feeling of mortality is what makes this all even more fun for her.

Anyway, so I have the choice of fighting a supernatural being whom can only be defeated by destroying his host body and even then it's just temporary (HE or DB shells, anyone?) or a regular, uninetersting, cookie cutter murderer... I take Daevi. He has more charme.

Fair enough, but she does have Daevi's shadow movement ability and can make knives from the coat she has. Daevi is more creepy and psychotic, whereas Davina is more energetic and psychopathic.
Daevi tortures you while crushing your hope.

Actual relation, father and son but they don't know that, which funnily enough is the only reason David doesnt die when he puts Daevi on.
David thinks Daevi as more of a parasite that he cant get rid of. He puts up with Daevi's bullshit so he doesnt go off and kill innocents.
