Some years have passed, and Lizard Skin the witch is back to the city where she left the little nameless wanderer we met here:

And how happy she is to meet her savior again! She has a name now, people call her Lala, a simple name based on her habit to sing wordless songs. She can speak a few words now, enough to communicate, but still not much is known about her life before meeting the Witch. She says she had another "mom", like "lizard mom" and "cloud mom" (the name of the innkeeper that basically adopted her, Black Cloud), but she can't remember how she was called.
One day, the caravan they traveled with stopped, everyone was worried, and mom told her she had to run away. She told her to run and run and never turn back, and so she did. She thought that mom was playing some game, so she ran until she could then waited and waited. But no one came. Mom told her to never turn back, so she kept walking straight until she found Lizard encampment and the rest is history.

Raiders are common in the steppe, and ruthless, so it was not hard to understand that Lala was probably the only survivor of the caravan.

Anyway, now she's happy, found a good guy, had a couple of puppies, and works as a waitress with Black Cloud, that loves her as her own child. The horrible destinies she missed are behind her shoulder, and luckily she doesn't even seem to understand what happened enough to be traumatized.

Nice work Lizard! You can rest a bit now, you're old and cranky, and the end of your life is probably near. But it's not your destiny to die here in peace, there still are thing you have to do, before.
