There are times when venturing too deep into a planetary crust reveals hellish landscapes and spiritual underworlds that the surface would otherwise write stories about. In this instance a shade of some kind has taken to using the liquefied rock from an unbearably hot magma river located above a mantle plume to adorn their ethereal body. When they reside in the incinerating pools only their face remains not shrouded in a bubbling magma cloak. Upon exiting to a distance a high-tech heat suit would find more comfortable, they take on a more casual lather of lava. A single purple void opal-like mineral rests atop their bosom - truly a trooper of a gem to remain intact with such dire circumstances
The Shade appears avian in shape though in a dark cavern it is sometimes hard to discern. An eerie glow of heat gives way to their visage much like a foxpot's own. They have talons that also radiate enough heat to melt and incinerate anything beneath them, such as expensive equipment - lava resistant sensors and computers are reduced to buckled and melted slag. The very stone they step on is briefly heated to a dim glow in the shape of their footprint.
To see such a creature is a worrying and fascinating experience. To take said creature back to the surface will find one joining them in the very pools where The Shade was found. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes.... What little ashes remain from unfortunate contact with this specimen of course. The surface cool does little to heed their flames
