My n3DS
I felt like sharing the very tool I use to create my art since a few of my friends have been wondering as well. Also, with the recent news that the production of the 3DS family of systems is now discontinued, I felt like it was appropriate. (c:
I never had a lot of money, but I got my first 3DS back in 2012 during christmas as a gift from my grandfather. It was the very first model that scratched itself just by closing it (terrible design) and had gloss all over so it smudged like crazy. xcD I loved it, though. I then got FlipnoteStudio3D when it appeared on ClubNintendo shortly afterwards.
Then during the christmas of 2016, my grandfather came through yet again and gave me some money to get myself whatever I wanted and I combined our sums and bought the new3DS, since the first model was falling apart from the damage over the years. hahaha.
I didn't actually touch FlipnoteStudio3D much until I actually started working on LoveMeNot. 0u0)"
Only then did it actually skyrocket itself up on the most played app on my n3DS in the activity log, but hey. It's working pretty damn hard now.
It was actually very difficult to work solely on a n3DS when LoveMeNot first started. I was constantly trying to think of how to fit a lot of things into a few panels without things looking too convoluted, and paired with that was my illiteracy when it came to everything technological (yes, even my n3DS). But at the time, I was already attending classes and working short hours, so I couldn't afford a tablet even if I really wanted one, and drawing on paper takes up space and resources that I felt wouldn't do the comic justice. So my n3DS popped up into my web of ideas and the rest is history. (c:
I do plan on getting a proper tablet in the future, and even though I absolutely love my n3DS for taking my art career this far, I'm aware of its limitations and I feel like my artistic potential is yet to be fully experimented.As for now, my n3DS will be with me til I figure something out. haha (c;

I knew you're using a 3DS for your drawing. And, personally, yes... I think it's limiting your artistic potential. It's a pity and I think one day it will become a reason of big frustration. Obviously it's too easy just say "change tool... take this... take that...". Tools have a cost, expecially technolgical tools and more expecially the tools for drawing/painting. So, the only thing I can say is I hope one day you can have all the tools you need. I'd be happy to see a new style from you. .:: Tiger kisses!!! ::.
Thanks man. You are absolutely correct. I have run into my fair share of headaches trying to maneuver around it, but honestly, it's what I can afford and it works for me, so until then, I'm fine with my tools. (c: Thank you for understanding the struggle of artists who don't have the best equipment. It gives me hope and confidence that I can reach my goals if I continue to work hard enough.
Yours extremely talented to be using a 3DS for creating your comic. To imagine you using a IPAD Pro 12.8 with the "Pencil"(i call it that) I can imagine how much more creative you can be. There are plenty of graphic tablets that even bigger and better to use but everything in due time of course. your amazing.
Hello, Joshua, it's nice to meet you. = D
Bless your grandfather, he helped get you started on your artistic journey.
It continues to fascinate me how everything you create is all done on this little device. I bet you even surpassed its limits by now. I can't imagine what you would do with a proper drawing tablet!
I bet in the far future your 3DS will find its way into a museum displayed as "the beginnings of the famous Australian artist Joshua Blobfish, the original 3DS used to bring their great works to life and catapult their artistic career".

I had no idea you made LoveMeNot on a DS. That's amazing. Makes total sense now.
Limitations can be both frustrating and inspiring to work with. I've done quite a bit of DS art myself.
Amazing art can be made with the simplest of tools! Take some examples:
