I think Crane must have read the wrong book, since Mars would not have had 'brutal death counts' in a steamy romance novel. And I'm surprised Crane is Christian, rather than being Daoist or Confucianist, but i understand this is a fan interpretation. His speech is still a nice one, with a good moral.
It's comforting you still liked his speech, and I told you it would be a surprising one. By "death count", I think Crane was talking about how some characters died because of murder. You know, like how some guy will wanna' cover up the fact he was sleepin' with someone else's wife, and then...he kills the wife's husband so nobody would know. Stuff like that. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
