I am the proud parent to three skunks. Gherkin the mighty, 6 years old, Professor Moriarty, 4 years old, and Agent Cooper, 1 years old. I have allergies to cats and dogs, so... Skunks are the logical alternative, aren't they?

Yes, I had Mycroft first, and Gherkin was named out of frustration with being bugged about what I'd name the new baby. Moriarty was named before he arrived, and he definitely fits that, Cooper was... Cooper to the people who had to give him up, and Cooper is what he's remained.

Until about 10 years ago skunks were considered part of the ferret and weasel family, but due to work on the genetic level by a Dr. Jerry Dragoo, they were found to fit somewhere between Mustelidae and Procyonidae, but not close enough to either, so they were given their own family, Mephitidae. Easy to see how they were thought to be woozeloids.
