Since moving down to south Florida (in 1994), one of my closest anthroartist friends is
Funimal of Miami.
We'd first met at an early 1990s edition of "PhilCon" in Philadelphia; but once I'd settled into the 'Sunshine State', we got to see each other more frequently (to the point of taking occasional upstate trips to meet other artists, such as Mary Hanson-Roberts of Orlando).
Needless to say, Funimal contributed several drawings in my big black sketchbook, and I thought I'd scan and post this personal favorite sketch of mine - which dates back to July, 1999, when "AnthroCon" took place in Valley Forge, PA.
Funimal was unavailable to go to that 'furry convention' with me, but he knew I had a good time, judging by the additional artwork included in my "BBS". Besides schlepping that heavy sketchbook around, I also wore two caps (on alternate days) - each one covered with an assortment of anthropomorphic Cloisonne pins. (One cap had a variety of 'Pepe Le Pew' pins and buttons, while the other cap had miscellaneous 'funny animal' character pins.) Because of the large number of pins on each cap, it was like strapping a five-pound weight on my head! (I'm surprised my head didn't draw in like a turtle!)
Needless to say, Funimal picked up on this situation, and rendered an image of my bobcat 'fursona', totally exhausted from attending the three-day con. His own mouse-like 'fursona' questioned the bobcat's lack of energy following "AC", to which 'Rob Cat' gave the obvious reason for being so pooped...
(NOTE: This sketch was done in pencil, so I had to use my Paint.Net program to darken most of the lines, in order for it to stand out a lot more.)
Check out some of Funimal's artwork in his own "FA" site, by going to:

As a matter of fact that's how I identified you last time I saw you. I thought, "look for the guy with one zillion buttons on his cap" and I am not joking. I have some sort of "face amnesia" I don't recognize people. Not unless I see them really really often. I wish I were joking.
