Sorry for the lore dump, but I've been meaning to finish/upload her for awhile.

Mimiclops are a species I made, which are basically a solid orb of varying color (that ends up becoming their eye) made up of a shadow spirit. They don't do well in light, so they find a box to inhabit. Once they find a suitable host, they attach a sigil to it, binding them with the box. The longer and more advanced the sigil, the stronger the bond, and the stronger the spirit body. The large keyhole on the front also spawns when this bond happens, which is used as a peep hole for them. Unfortunately the keyhole appears on every host, so if the host box doesn't typically have a keyhole (such as a cardboard box), then they'll typically be found out quickly.

Mimiclops hosts have a pocket dimension with seemingly endless space, making them popular if tamed. If you can force the top of the host closed, while the head is outside of the range, the spirit body will disappear, exposing the eye as well as the sigil. A mimiclops eye is a rare ingredient used in certain potions, as well as a popular fashion trinket. Knowing this, they typically shy away from humans.

Legends say that Mimiclops originated from cursed pearls from the bottom of the ocean, which is why they' like closed spaces, hate light, and have an orb-like main body.

They have no standard size, but are typically as small as a pebble to as big as a cannon ball.
