Her mother was convinced she’d go to a big city college and be brainwashed by the liberal machine. In a way, she was - they filled her head with such new and wonderful information, that she left her tiny town and never looked back. If you ask her, she was born in the city, mostly because she’d never lived until she’d experienced a coffee shop on every corner, high rise apartments, and expensive designer handbags.

When her family says she’s like a totally new person, she takes it as a compliment. She’s not a country possum anymore, and maybe she never was.
