Chills and Thrills

Skyler had always dreamed about going to a school far away from home. He found just the right school to go to: Kaldur Academy. This school was far up north, and specialized in the fields of winter magic. Kaldur was also quite special since while humans are more than welcome to apply, most of the student body comprised of Salyrians, which were half human and half snow leopard.

Today though, Skyler was finally realizing his dream. His application to Kaldur Academy was successful, and he was stoked to go to his dream school. He arrived at his dorm quite early out of sheer eagerness to soak in the dream. As one of the new students, he wanted to make as good an impression as he could to his new roommate, Crystal. She was a year above him as a Sophomore, but she was part of a program to room with Freshmen and mentor them throughout the first year.

As Crystal walked in with her stuff, Skyler noticed that Crystal was one of these Salyrians. He was so focused on the buildings at Kaldur that he never even noticed the other students.

“Hi there! I’m Skyler! Nice to meet you!” Skyler says helping Crystal with her belongings.

“Likewise, I’m Crystal. Thank You.” Crystal says organizing her stuff with Skyler’s assistance.

“So uh… you’re a… what is it, Salyrian?” Skyler asked.

Crystal chuckled a little. “First time seeing one in person?” she asked playfully.

“Yeah, it is.” Skyler said shyly. Last thing he wanted to do was make a bad impression.

“Nothing to be too worried about Skyler, when I first came here I never saw one either.” Crystal explains.

“Wait? Weren’t you always a Salyrian?” Skyler asks, confused.

“Hm? Oh no, actually I was part of that program, don’t know if you saw it in the pamphlet or brochure, but Salyrians tend to outperform humans when it comes to magic here at Kaldur. So the university rolled out a program to convert humans to Salyrians. It is a pretty popular program for humans here. I would highly recommend it.” Crystal explains.
“Well, the way you talk it definitely sounds too good to pass up!” Skyler says as Crystal holds him up a little. She wasn’t quite finished with her explanation.

“There is a little thing you should know first. About 1 in 10 people that go through this experience a gender swap. You know, male to female, female to male. That type of thing. We don’t have a lot of human female applicants, so you usually don’t see female to male here. I for one was a female human to start with, so I wouldn’t know about the gender swap first hand.”

Skyler was quite intrigued. It would be pretty neat to be a felitaur salyrian. However, in his mind, something else was coming in. What would it be like to be a female? He dare not be open about it since he isn’t sure how his friends would react. Both old and new. They would think he was out of his mind thinking that way. “Well uh, if it’ll help me with my magic, I guess it’s worth the risk.” Skyler says trying to remain nonchalant about it even though he was secretly hoping for that 1 in 10 shot.

“Well, I’m happy to hear that! Tomorrow, I will take you to where we do the transformation. It is not painful at all despite what some of the trolls here might have you believe.” she says with a hint of annoyance at when she first underwent the transformation.

“Neat. Well, I guess I better get rested up then. Got all organized and I’m ready to crash. Not really that hungry to be honest.” Skyler says stretching his arms as he went to change into his sleep clothes.

“Well, I’ll just be quiet as you get ready for bed. Good Night!” Crystal says as Skyler comes out in his sleep clothes.

“Good night Crystal!” Skyler says before turning in for the night.

The next morning, Crystal and Skyler both woke up early and grabbed a little breakfast before heading to the transformation room with Professor Coda D. Gato, also a Salyrian

“Good Morning. Can I help you out with something? Oh! Hello Crystal. Nice to see you back.” Professor Gato said, shaking Crystal’s hand.

“I’m good. We have someone who wants to do the transformation program. This is Skyler.” Crystal says introducing Skyler to Professor Gato.

“H-hi…” Skyler says nervously. This was a major step he is taking and he couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated.

“Nothing to be nervous about! We’re more than happy to help you out. Just step on up and we will get you transforming using transformation magic.” Professor Gato says leading Skyler to a back room as Crystal followed along for support.

After a few deep breaths, Skyler was ready. He gives the thumbs up to Professor Gato as he casts the transformation spell on him.

“You may feel some tingling throughout. It may take some time getting used to this new form, so take it slow at first.” Professor Gato advises Skyler.

Skyler expected changes, but surprisingly nothing happened. “Uh, am I missing something? Or did it not work?” Skyler says trying to understand what was happening.

“Oh no. This spell gets triggered while sleeping. You should start changing tonight. Crystal can also help you with your adjustments when you wake up. It’ll also give you a chance to meet some of the other students here.” Professor Gato explains.

“Guess that works, it would be cool to meet some of the other students and make some new friends.” Skyler says. He was being polite, but he was a little bummed the transformation didn’t happen right away. Still, it would be cool to meet other Salyrians.

“I’ll introduce you to some of my guy friends.” Crystal says.

“Thanks Crystal, and thank you Professor Gato for all of this. I look forward to learning about this magic!” Skyler says as he and Crystal leave.

“I look forward to teaching you. Have a good day.” Professor Gato says.

Crystal and Skyler head on out to meet some of the other students. “I can still introduce you to my female friends if you want. I just figured you’d want to hang out with the boys rather than the girls.” Crystal says.

“Oh uh, yeah that would be fine.” Skyler says nervously as he didn’t want to admit that he wanted to become one of the girls rather than one of the boys. He still had to play it cool.

They walk into the leisure room where they see a group of Salyrians chilling and chatting. “Ayyyy! This the new student?” one of them asks.

“Yes! This is Skyler.” Crystal says introducing Skyler to him.

“‘Sup man? I’m Chance! Nice to meet ya!” Chance says giving Skyler a bro hug. Skyler could sense Chance’s high energy. “Heard you were takin’ Crystal’s route and wanted to become a Salyrian like us! Can’t say I’ve gone through that since I’m natural born, but welcome in advance!” Chance happily says.

“Thanks Chance. It’s nice to feel welcomed here. What do you guys do for fun around here?” Skyler asks.

“I’m Anthony.” one of the other Salyrians answers. “You have other dudes to hang out with right? We aren’t different at all. Shoot some pool, party, gaming, you know the usual.” Anthony says nonchalantly.

“”Neat.” Skyler says. He was a little bit nervous about fitting in. Especially since he can’t really admit what he really wants to the guys. About his transformation “specifications.” Still, they seemed very nice and welcoming. “Mind if I join you?” he asks.

“Don’t even need to ask bro!” Chance says laughing, slapping Skyler’s back. “Let’s fire up the telly and grab some grub!” he says getting things set up.

“Well, I’d like to stay but I have a few more things to take care of on my end. I best be going. I’ll see you later.” Crystal says as she leaves the room.

“Bye Crystal.” Skyler says waving goodbye.

“Pretty ballsy when you think about it.” Anthony says. “Doing the transformation sequence knowing the risk.”

“Risk? Oh you mean…”

“The gender change? Yeah, it would totally blow if you ended up turning into a female. You’d probably want to be hanging out with Crystal and her friends more than us if that happened.” Anthony says, sighing a little.

Skyler couldn’t help feel a little guilty. He did enjoy Anthony and Chance’s company. It presented a new dilemma for him. If he did remain male, he wouldn’t have to worry about fitting in, but he could never realize his deep dream. On the other hand, if his deep dream did come true, he couldn’t show much joy to anyone or express his true feelings. It was a lose-lose situation. Not everything could fall neatly in place.

“All set!” Chance says handing Skyler a third controller and a refreshing beverage as they fire up the console and play some video games. It was indeed fun for Skyler hanging out with Anthony and Chance. There was a natural connection he had with them. He was comfortable with them and did find a close bond of friendship with them. It was as if they knew each other all their lives. Skyler was able to loosen up a little after a couple hours playing.

“You’re pretty good!” Chance says. “You really come in clutch those past few rounds and getting the dubs!”

“Well, I got great teammates!” Skyler says enjoying himself. Just before they were about to jump into another match, Skyler noticed the time. It was getting pretty late and the transformation was going to trigger when he goes to sleep, or at least some time in the night. “Hate to head out since I’m having a blast with you guys, but I gotta get back.”

“No problem Skyler! Catch you tomorrow!” Chance says as he and Anthony fire up a match on their own as Skyler heads back to his room.

“Seems like somebody had a good time. You, Anthony and Chance seem to be gelling quite well.” Crystal asks Skyler as he enters the room.

“Yeah, they’re pretty cool guys. I just know that my uh, transformation will be happening soon. And I’m just eager for it to start.” Skyler tells Crystal.

“Well, you have everything at your disposal! I’ll just be getting washed up. Give you some privacy.” Crystal says heading to the bathroom to freshen herself up.

Skyler takes a deep breath as he lays in bed. He wasn’t quite sure how it would turn out. All he could do was hope for the best as he slowly felt himself drift into sleep. After a few minutes of light shut-eye, Skyler begins to feel the changes start to happen. He was ecstatic as he could feel the fur growing on his legs and feet. As Crystal said, it didn’t hurt, but it was tingly. It was light blue fur with some white fur on the back of his legs. His feet also shifting from human toes into feline paws. He was able to flex his new paws a little. It felt different of course, but it was a pleasant change. Apart from the fur, he felt his legs become stronger. His legs were becoming more muscular and powerful.

He thought to himself as he dreamt, “Well, I guess that’s why Salyrians consistently outperform humans,” as he felt something grow out from behind. It wasn’t a tail, but it was another set of legs. They were pushing out from behind as his taur back was growing. He now understood why Professor Gato didn’t do this right away. He surely would have fallen flat on his face if he wasn’t in bed.

“Woah!” Skyler says almost falling out of bed as his center of gravity was starting to shift. Even laying down, it was tough to maintain balance, but he slowly got adjusted as he didn’t make any sharp movements that might accidentally break something or hurt himself. Eventually, his hind legs started coming out. He turned to feel his new hind legs and feet as he softly giggled. This was really happening. He had his new set of legs.

The next thing to grow as part of the transformation was Skyler’s tail. It grew out of the back of his spine as it swayed a little, adjusting to the new body. Suddenly, Skyler felt something weird down below. He suddenly remembered what Crystal told him earlier “There’s a 1 in 10 chance of a gender change during the transformation.” It looks like Skyler was that 1 person after all. He was becoming a female Salyrian!

Inside Skyler was cheering and doing cartwheels as this was exactly what he wanted. But, he knew that there would be many more challenges ahead. He was always “one of the boys” and liked to do “guy stuff.” His new friends were awesome, but it would be much harder for him to continue to do what he did before as a female. He would never get to be “one of the boys” again. Not only that, he wasn’t exactly sure what females do, since Skyler didn’t really grow up with a lot of female influence. This would be a pretty big change to get used to.

Interestingly enough, his human half remained untouched. But Skyler imagined that this would change soon enough. If his Taur half was female, his human half was sure to follow. A good question for either Crystal or Professor Gato.

All of this thinking woke up Skyler as he tries to stand on her new taur legs. Skyler expected to wobble, but it was completely instinctual to her. She even got into a sitting position as if she always knew how to do it. She walked a little bit around the room as she started to feel comfortable in his body. But she wasn’t quite ready for Crystal to notice, so he jumped back in bed and went to sleep. Crystal came out and could tell the transformation worked, but couldn’t tell if Skyler changed genders as she was under the covers. Crystal figured she’d find out tomorrow as she heads to bed. Tomorrow was the first lecture and they both need all the sleep they can get.

The next morning, Skyler woke up and found a little surprise waiting for her. Crystal picked out some clothes for her first day out in her new form. It was guy clothes which would help buy him a little time to hide his gender change. He quickly got dressed as Crystal was waiting for him outside.

“Hope you like your new clothes! Call it a welcoming present!” Crystal says with a smile on her face.

“Yeah, I do. Thank you very much Crystal.” Skyler answers politely.

“Our class isn’t really what you typically experience. Since we do a lot of magic, we tend to do a lot of outdoor learning. Yeah, there are some things we still do indoors, but you can’t really expand your magical abilities in a classroom.” Crystal explains.

“That makes sense. I just hope I don’t embarrass myself since I’ve obviously never used magic before. Don’t want to come across too much as a newbie.” Skyler nervously says. She didn’t know what her expectations would be and wanted to come across as a good student as she always had been.

“Nothing to worry about Skye, you don’t mind if I call you Skye if that’s alright?” Crystal asks.

“Skye is perfectly fine.” Skye says. Well, one problem solved at least. One less thing to worry about.

“Well Skye, we start off class by tapping into our magical energy to activate it. Some Salyrians have already done it based on their past, others haven’t which is perfectly normal. It’s not a competition. It’s about developing everyone’s magic abilities. We then shift to controlling magic. This is important because you want to be efficient with your magic. Don’t waste it all on something small. Likewise if it’s something big, it’s important not to let it go out of control.” Crystal explains.

“I see. That’s a bit of weight off of my shoulders I guess.” Skye says but still a little nervous.

“You know what might help? How about we run to the class? Help you break in your new Taur body. We can go quite fast, and I’m sure it’ll be a good rush for you!” Crystal suggests.

“Okay, I’ll do my best to keep up.” Skye says.

“Don’t worry Skye! I know you will keep up just fine! Follow me!” Crystal says, starting to run as Skye followed behind. Skye was pleasantly surprised at how fast she was able to go. Just like last night, everything about this transformation seemed natural to her. Skye was able to crack a smile even as she picked up speed and felt the cool, brisk air around her as she ran with Crystal.

“There you go! Have a little more self-confidence in yourself! You’ll make a great Salyrian!” Crystal says with encouragement as Skye let out a little chuckle.

“Thanks Crystal!” Skye says smiling as they make it to their class which was out in a big field and other students were getting seated.

“I gave you a little rundown of the introduction stuff already so it won’t be so unfamiliar.” Crystal tells Skye.

“Gotcha.” Skye responds as Professor Gato comes out and starts class.

“Welcome everyone to a brand new year! Nice to see some familiar faces, and some new faces here. Now, these first few weeks of class you will be paired up with a mentor from the prior year. They will be your personal teaching assistant to help you with your magic. Some of you used to be humans, and although getting used to your new body is easy enough, it can still be tricky to utilize your magic.” Professor Gato explains as Skye noticed him eyeing up other students that went through the transformation sequence. Most of them were still guys, but she did see one or two females. She couldn’t tell if they were gender swapped like she was, but it was a little reassuring to her that she wasn’t alone.

Professor Gato then started the lecture after his welcoming introduction. As Skye figured, Crystal already told him about the first part of the lecture. Skye still made sure to absorb it all in. After about an hour of standard lecturing, Professor Gato said, “Well, I think it is time for a little magic! You and your mentor will be assigned your own zones that way interference and accidents will be kept to a minimum! I know many of you want to learn big magic, but this first task is very simple. Create an ice sphere with your hands. You gotta learn the basics first before going on to bigger and better magic. Mentors, please demonstrate.” Professor Gato told them.

Skye observed Crystal’s hands and her breathing. She was focusing on a certain space as she calmly placed her hands around this space. Skye could start to see some of the air around Crystal spiral into this space. It was spinning faster and faster and getting more and more concentrated. Skye looked on in amazement as it started growing into a sphere. After a minute, Crystal showed off her perfect ice sphere.

“Wow! That’s amazing!” Skye said in amazement. “This is my first time seeing magic like this up close!” Skye excitedly says.

“Go ahead and try it!” Crystal says to Skye as she tries to copy what she did. Skye started to feel some of the magic flowing through her. It wasn’t just through her hands, but throughout her felitaur body. Skye was really doing it. She could feel the magic swirling around and creating an ice sphere. Well…

“You’re getting there...” Crystal says looking at Skye’s imperfect ice sphere. There were still quite a few rough and uneven patches on her sphere. “I do feel the magic you used, just needs a little smoothing out.” she says.

Skye sighed. She wanted to do it right the first time, but she just wasn’t 100% focused, and one of the major parts of becoming a great mage is focus and control. She was more 85% there which was still better than most of the other students, some of whom couldn’t even make anything, others with very tiny spheres, some not even creating a sphere. Still, this is what Skye really wanted and she was worried about blowing it.

“No need to get upset or worried about it,” Professor Gato says looking at Skye’s Psuedo-sphere. “You got the hard part over with. This is good progress. You just need a little shaving and smoothing and you’re all set. You’re really doing great for a first timer,” Professor Gato says, encouraging Skye. Skye nodded as she decided to try again. This time was a bit more successful. Not quite perfect, but awfully close. As she was about to try one last time, class ended.

“We don’t want you to burn all of your magic. Rest is important to replenishing your magic along with training and practice.” Professor Gato says dismissing the class.

Skye and Crystal head back to the dorms to rest a little. As Crystal took a little nap, Skye was a little nervous. She could start to feel some of the changes happening in her human half now. Her physique was slowly becoming a bit more feminine like Crystal’s. She was still wearing a shirt that still hid it, but it would only work so long. Although it seemed risky, Skye figured to put on his “Skyler” and hang out with Anthony and Chance to maybe clear her head.

Skye as Skyler headed down to the rec room as they were firing up the magic hockey machine. “Hey! Skyler! Nice to see ya back bud!” Chance says giving a small, playful punch on Skye’s shoulder. “Crystal said you had a pretty good first day!” Chance says.

“Much better than you…” Anthony says with a little snark as Skye couldn’t help but try to contain his laughter.

“You’re one to talk Mr. Snow Showboat! Mr. Fancy Pants here almost froze the professor’s arm off!” Chance says defensively.

“It was his tail! Get your facts straight! At least when I went to the mountains I didn’t almost cause an avalanche!” Anthony argues back as Skye was leaning on the pool table laughing at this petty argument.

“Almost! I didn’t even cause it. That’s the worst argu…” Chance was about to continue as he noticed something about Skye. Skye was so busy laughing that she didn’t notice her chest was starting to grow into breasts. “Uh… Skyler?”

“Ha ha...what?” Skye asked as he got up only to realize what was happening. “Oh crap!” Skye yells covering her chest, nervous and embarrassed.

“Ah shoot man, er girl, well, whatever you go by, real sorry for you.” Anthony says apologetically.

“Yeah, it’s such a bummer. Really sucks,” Skye said. This was partially true. This did indeed suck, but it wasn’t for the reasons they were thinking.

“10%, such low chances. And of course it happens to you. And you know they can’t reverse it right? You’re stuck like this.” Chance says.

“Great...exactly what I wanted,” Skye says sarcastically, although in her mind not really.

“I mean you’re more than welcome to join us if you ever want to. You’re still you, but might be a bit awkward. Probably hanging out with Crystal and the other girls more…” Chance says with a little sadness. He really liked hanging with Skye and hoped that she would still hang out with them sometimes. Skye could sense the pain in Chance’s response. She knew it’d be hard, but not this hard.

“We can, you know, still hang out. Just because I’m well, a girl now doesn’t mean I’m going to give up my old hobbies entirely.” Skye says trying to reassure Chance who seemed much better now.

“Just met’cha, would’ve hated to see you leave so soon. Still up to hang out with us now?” Chance asks.

“Sure. What’s this game you were about to start?” Skye asks.

“Oh. It’s Magic Hockey. Heard it’s like air hockey except we use magic to control the field. It’s set up for up to four wanna try it? Might be good magic practice.” Anthony offers.

“Sounds like fun. I’m in!” Skye says as she is told what to do. One hand for the paddle striker, one hand to manipulate magic to make the field either snowy to cause friction, or icy to increase speed. The puck itself is pulled to the hockey field, so no chance of it flying out of the playing field.

“Ready? Go!” Chance says as they all begin playing. Skye was getting adjusted since she hadn’t exactly dealt with this kind of magic before. She only knew ice, and not so much snow. It showed a little as she got scored on early twice. She decided not to use her magic and focus on the puck which helped a bit, but Anthony took notice. “Why aren’t you using your magic?”

“I’ve only had one class so far. Only know how to make ice spheres. I don’t know these ice and snow mechanics. I’ve never tried something like this before!” Skye says a bit loudly and emotionally.as well

“Calm down man! I mean, girl. Er, whatever. I guess we forgot you’re just a freshman. We’re juniors so this is second nature to us. Maybe make it just ice hockey for now?” Chance says.

“Yes, sorry about that. Just so much…” Skye says as they talk it off as they resume “ice hockey.” It was a bit easier now for Skye, but she never was the best at these type of games as she got scored out first. She just watched Anthony and Chance go at it as they were really into the game. Skye in a weird sense wish they paid a bit more attention to her and not this game. She sighed as she said, “I guess I should be getting more studied up if I wanna be as good mages as you.” Anthony and Chance just nodded not really noticing so much as they were in a heated battle of their own.

Skye walked back to the room sulking a little as Crystal started to see why.

“Oh...are you okay? It looks like you didn’t get what you wanted.” Crystal says walking up to Skye and giving her a comforting hug. Skye was having a hard time keeping his emotions inside as she let out a few tears. “Do you want to talk about it? Were you made fun of? Were you being bullied?” she asks Skye.

“No, nothing like that. Just so many changes are going on. One of them happened with Anthony and Chance which was embarrassing for me. Even now, look earlier it was my breasts and now my arms are becoming feminine. Less rugged and more smooth!” Skye says doing her best not to lose it.

“Well, don’t panic. You can always hang out with us and it might make you feel more comfortable being a girl. I was about to go out with some of the other girls, if you wanted to come along.” Crystal offers.

Skye couldn’t hold back anymore as he let out a few cries hugging Crystal. “There's also something I should tell you. I was just so afraid to say it, until now. And please, keep it between you and me.” Skye sobs to Crystal.

“Sure, go ahead and tell me. I swear and promise I won’t tell anyone unless you want me to.” Crystal says listening to Skye.

“Well, the truth is…” Skye says taking a deep breath, “I actually wanted to become a girl.” Skye confides in Crystal.

“Really? That’s nothing to feel ashamed or shy about.” Crystal says.

“It’s not that easy. Just so much expectations and pressure is put on me being a guy and always doing guy stuff. I was intrigued about this 10% gender change, and was hoping that would happen. I was elated inside about this, but realizing the road ahead, I wasn’t ready to be open about this.” Skye says.

“Well, this girl’s night will just be what you need. We can get you some new clothes that would work better for you. And I bet going to the spa would help relax and calm your nerves, make it a girl’s night to remember. Wait, you know what? I bet that’s also why you couldn’t do your magic perfectly. Stressing about other things is the number one block to magic. You had internalized this earlier in class and couldn’t give full attention to your ice sphere.” Crystal explains.

‘I see. That is exactly what happened. I am surprised though for something this big of a stress creator how well I did relatively.” Skye says recalling his earlier attempts.

“The fact that you almost got a perfect ice sphere, day one, with a massive block is actually impressive. You could probably do wonders when that block is gone.” Crystal says.”

“Well, I guess the first step is to start our girl’s night?” Skye asks.

“Of course! Let’s head on out! I’ll tell the girls I’m bringing a new friend. Skye is fine, right?” she asks Skye.

“Yeah, and who are your friends?” Skye asks.

“Nancy and Tonya. They helped me during my transformation last year, so they’ll be more than happy to help you out. But, actually, before we go out, there’s something you will probably need, a brassiere.” Crystal notes as they quickly head back in as Crystal helps Skye get used to wearing a brassiere. “It’ll feel weird at first, but just like magic, practice makes perfect!” Crystal says as they head back out, Skye’s face now changing into a more feminine, and girly face.

“Do I…” Skye says in a more girly voice, “Do I look alright?” Skye says blushing. She hadn’t really been concerned about appearances before. But now, as a girl, she was starting to be a bit more self-conscious about her appearance.

“You look good Skye, and after tonight, you’re gonna be even more beautiful.” Crystal says smiling as they make it to the mall and greet Tonya and Nancy.

“Crystal! Nice to see you? And is this Skye?” Tonya asks.

“Yes! Skye, this is Tonya, and this is Nancy.” Crystal introduces Skye.

“It’s nice to finally meet you! I heard you’ve been having a hard day, well don’t worry, we’ll be sure to turn it back around!” Nancy says cheerfully.

“Thanks! Where shall we begin? Don’t mean to sound weird, but well, this is my first…”girl’s night” so I don’t know what goes on.” Skye says.

“No probs, how about we start’cha off with some new clothes. Get you all fashioned up!” Tonya says.
“Sounds like fun! What store should we hit first?”

“How about this one?” Crystal points to one of the stores, it appeared to be the hottest store in the mall. Tons of paw traffic in and out. Skye nods as they all head on in. It was an eye-opening experience for Skye. So many different types of clothes, not just for her human half which was now completely transformed now, but for her felitaur half as well. Skye just grabbed whatever she thought looked cute and what would look good on her. It was a huge rush seeing all of these clothes.

“Let’s see how they look on you!” Tonya says as Nancy got a store associate to lead her to the fitting room. Nancy and Tonya each had their own room but Skye wasn’t sure about putting on clothes by herself. Especially on her taur half, the last thing she wanted was to rip something. Crystal hopped in the fitting room with Skye as she put on her first new outfit. It was a warm brown vest that was designed to cover the taur half as well. It also came with some stylish black gloves.

“You can try shoes if you want, but our paws are good on all terrains, so shoes aren’t really needed.” Crystal explains as Skye gets all fitted. She looked in the mirror and gave the biggest smile she had since the transformation.

“I really do look beautiful!” she says now with some tears of joy coming out. “I want to show Tonya and Nancy too!” Skye says excitedly.

“Sure thing Skye! Nancy? Tonya? Come on out and see how gorgeous Skye looks!” Crystal says as they walk out of the fitting room.

“Oh my God! You are absolutely stunning Skye!” Tonya says looking at Skye’s outfit.

“You have some good fashion sense you probably didn’t know you had!” Nancy says.

“I can’t wait to try on more of my outfits!” Skye says excitedly as she and Crystal head back to the fitting room as they try on the outfits Skye picked. Some of them didn’t look or feel as good and were put aside. But there were still quite a few winners for Skye. Crystal had a couple outfits selected for herself, but only chose one since she already had plenty already. Skye was starting from the ground up. She could use all the clothes she can get.

After a few hours, they walked out of the store with a bunch of new clothes and Skye was absolutely delighted. “I’m feeling such a rush!” Skye says.

“Well, we’re just getting started! The spa is right here! They’ll look after our stuff as we go relax. And if you’ve never been to a spa, you will love it!” Crystal says as the girls enter the spa.

“Wow, I can already feel this relaxing aura,” Skye says, taking everything in. Despite being in a mostly cold environment, this spa was nice and warm.

“Even frost mages can use a little warming now and again,” Tonya says as she is led to a private area for her spa treatment. Nancy quickly follows into another room.

“So Skye, anything you wanted to try here? Anything jump out at you?” Crystal asks.

“Well, a facial would be nice. I really want to bring out my facial features. A hand and paw massage would feel good… ummm…” Skye says thinking about more options she’d want to try.

“This spa also has a salon for hair, nails and makeup too.” Crystal points out.

“I could have my nails done, but I don’t really think makeup fits me quite yet.” Skye says as she finishes choosing her options for her very first spa day. Crystal and Skye are led to their separate rooms as the spa treatment begins with a little steam to open up the pores before getting a Korean Scrub. This starts with a soaking hot bath to get the skin and fur nice and soaked, and then a specialty loofah is applied giving the skin and fur a nice glow up.

The masseuse then asked Skye to sit down on the relaxing chair which was specifically modified for felitaur salyrians. She could feel how surprisingly powerful the masseuse’s hands were in relieving the tension in her hands. The masseuse offered to massage her arms and legs as well and Skye accepted. She delightfully sighed as she could feel the stress melt away with every stroke and rub the masseuse gave her.

After about half an hour, it was time for the facial and nails. Skye was still in her chair as a special frost-weed rub was applied on her face. It would start out cold at first then gets warmer with time. Skye just closed her eyes as the salonist worked on her nails. Filing them, smoothing them out, and asking if she wanted them painted. Skye said, “Yes, I want a nice light blue. It would be a good match for my fur.”

And so the salonist got the light blue nail polish as she began doing Skye’s nails. Before this, Skye never thought something like getting nails done would be so relaxing. She used to always be in a rush to get stuff done. But today, she was slowing down, taking time for herself, and really letting her inhibitions go. Skye was starting to become more comfortable in her new body, and becoming more comfortable about being a girl now.

The salonist was finished with the nails as the masseuse came to peel the rub off of Skye’s face. It hurt a little because of the peeling, but when it did come off, her face felt relaxed and smooth. In the mirror, although the changes were minute, Skye could see a newfound glow in her face.

Skye came out to see the other girls waiting for her. “So, how was it?” Crystal asks with anticipation.

“It was absolutely the best! Thank you all so much for inviting me out! This was just what I needed!” Skye says giving all the girls a hug as they all hugged back.

“Well, we too are happy you came along! Always happy to help out a new friend! Come join us anytime!” Nancy says.

“I’d love to!” Skye says in a bubbly tone as they all headed on out.

“We’d love to stay, but we should be getting back. We both have class tomorrow, and we want to be all set for that.” Crystal says.

“No probs! See you around soon!” Tonya says waving goodbye with Nancy as Crystal and Skye head back to their dorms.

“I bet you’re gonna sleep well tonight Skye!” Crystal says putting away her clothes she bought.

“I sure am, but there’s one thing I want to try first,” Skye says organizing her new wardrobe.

“Huh? What’s that?” Crystal asks.

“I wanna try that ice sphere again.”

“Really? Isn’t it kind of late?” Crystal asks.

“Yeah, but I feel so confident now, like I really can do anything. Mind if we step outside for a bit. It’ll just be one try and that’s it.” Skye pleads with Crystal.

“Oh, alright.” Crystal says, obliging to Skye’s request as they step outside. “You remember what to do now?” Crystal asks.

“Yes I do, here goes nothing!” Skye says as she prepares her sphere. Many familiar feelings of magic and focus returned, but now, nothing was distracting her. Nothing was blocking her focus. Nothing was getting in her way. And now,

“I did it!” Skye says observing the flawless ice sphere in her hand.

“Wow! You really did it!” Crystal says impressed. “Now, try throwing it up in the air.” Crystal says.

“Ok, what will that do?” Skye asks.

“You’ll see,” Crystal says as Skye throws the ice sphere straight up in the air, high in the sky as it explodes. Not a violent explosion, but what came out of the ice sphere was the most beautiful snow Skye had ever seen.

“While throwing it at an enemy can act as a bomb, throwing it up in the air acts like a firework. Call it a snow-work! You should see the festivals which showcase the most amazing snow-work shows ever!” Crystal says.

“I can’t wait to see that! But this is quite beautiful,” Skye says taking in the cheerful snowfall.

“Beautiful snow from a beautiful person,” Crystal says to Skye with a warm smile.

“Couldn’t have done this without you,” Skye says, returning the smile to her. As they watched the snow fall down around them. Even though the spa treatment helped relax Skye, this was pure happiness around her. Skye was more excited than ever about what was to come. What experiences she would have as a felitaur. What experiences she would have as a girl. What magic she would learn as a Salyrian frost mage. And what the future held for herself and her best friend, Crystal.
