Oh, poor poor dearest Kalita . That was such a terrifying night for you. Being unable to fight back physically or mentally. You lost the ability to be tough under Gantus. You had no idea what to do. You have been betrayed by Leyline. (yeah, he was high on drugs and stuff, but he treated the vixen like dirt, which also hurts.) You have no more biker gang and no safe refuge to escape to anymore. Everyone has rejected you because you are no longer considered the strongest of the pack.

What Gantus did wasn't fair. He planned out everything, even the attack on the homeless, as an orchestrated trap for for Kalita. He broke her spirit, her soul and mind. Yes, Kalita went out like a coward, and no doubt that it made her miserable and it haunted her. No wonder she had woke up spooked in her home orphanage a few chapters back.

Looks like we are back to the scene where Kalita was at the orphanage's mailbox with her letter from the college and the orphanage bill, and she is reacting to the bill after reading it. "Final notice", huh? That poor vixen cannot catch a break.

There wasn't much else that could be done in that moment... Fight another day...

Flashback is over. I guess remembering this tragedy is renewing Kalita's warrior spirit. The admission notice that she's been reading vacantly for two chapters is being crushed with emotion.

The admission notice and the final notification for the orphanage...and i fear that inside her is getting hold what Gantus said about her being a bully, and the need for money, fast. Hence the later attack at Cookie and Muko expense, but Muko shown to have slightly improved. Not much but still enough to shake Kalita from her intetion and grant Cookie and Muko a week to train and prepare. That woild be a battle for the literal soul of Kalita. Muko victory or tie will prove that Gantus was wrong and more importantly you are not cursed to remain weak.

Indeed. (Which makes me wonder about something. When Kalita was attacking Cookie for money, was she really working for the loan shark or was she bluffing so that she could grab money from her for the orphanage? Either way, it is obvious that she did it out of desperation to pay for the orphanage.) Anyway, when the time comes for the girls to face off in their third fight, it will bring out great change and some big turnabout development for the both of them.
