Entangled With the New Snake - Daytime // Sunset // Night

Maria was given a mission that required agility, so she decided to visit her late mentor's old friend, in form of a giant cobra nicknamed "Hiss X". Oddly enough, he wasn't used to be a giant, but rather a young and slim flapless snake hailed from Colombia. The cobra was somehow holed up in an abandoned, flooded temple, somewhere in Yucatan, likely in search for an isolated but comfortable home for himself.

Hiss X also knew about Maria through his friend's rare discussions, few years prior to her recent visit. An ever powerful yet reasonable monster would never go easy on any visitor, not even Maria, even if it was their first to step upon his new home, only accessible either by swimming through the flooding entrance infested with piranhas or by climbing up to the roof guarded by good-sized, muscular two-legged snake warriors (formerly mammalian Mayan villagers before being transformed by Hiss X).

Hiss X himself enjoyed dangerous fights, yet he decided to spare a few fighters he deemed worthy, but he was also willing to turn any fighter into a bigger, more powerful two-legged snake warrior whether the latter won or not. However, he was not willing to turn his dead friend's students like Maria into such, as the cobra deeply considered it to be a serious betrayal.

Hiss X could sense what any subject was up to, which allowed him counter any attacks, but could not learn deeper about their purpose of coming after him. With that said, he was a grouchy giant but open to surprises and good impressions, as long as his opponent was strong enough to reach to his face.

Two months after setting up his new home in an abandoned temple, he would be confronted by Maria who swam through the entrance.
