And now for a full-body render of the bug guy. Done in Blender 2.79, rendered in 2.8
Due to being a personal character (and my Dropbox being too full and me still not having found a good site to dump my models on) I won't share the model publicly around.

First, there's a new colour management system in blender 2.8x, called "Filmic". Is is on by default and can be found in the Render tab under "Color management". In case you didn't know, it simulates the response curve of a film camera. By default, it produces washed-out colours and low contrast (and I think it is the case with these particular renders), but it is configurable in the "Look" option (I'm usually selecting "Medium high contrast"). To revert to the old behaviour, select "Standard" where the "View transform" option is.
Second, I think the light grey background might not the best choice. It is noticeable the most in the Zekra render, where the model almost blends with it. I woud suggest using a darker background for lighter characters and vice versa, and not just plainly grey, but a desaturated opposite of the subject's main colour. This simple change will get the model presented better. (I personally prefer to mix a lil bit of noise in that colour too, to add visual interest).
