And here it is: the picture that kept me busy for 10 days straight. I wanted to draw a really "big" picture again and so this is the result of an idea I have had on my mind for several weeks now.
(beware long picture description)
The inspirations behind this picture come from very different sources. The main idea was probably from the game Just Cause 2, I have been playing for a few weeks now. With all the crazy stunts that are possible in this game, I kinda thought it would be a cool idea to put my character in a pose where he is running down the side of a building, with a rope attached to his arm, shooting stuff.
When I sketched out this first idea, I found it to be a bit stiff. It was okay, but nothing extraordinary. So I kinda said "fuck realism" and came up with this idea of him sliding down a diagonal rooftop, shooting his guns.
The second source of inspiration was the amazing work of
strype . I have been a fan of his pictures for a few years now and I always loved the contraptions and costumes he put his characters into. So added some various bits of belts, buckles and other stuff to the outfit of the character. That alone took a long time to sketch, ink and color.
My last source of inspiration was the game Mirrors Edge. It came up towards the end, when I was struggling to get the background look right. I didnt really know how to design the city, so I fired up the game again and voila, in no time I had some new ideas for buildings and how to arrange them.
It the end it was a really exhausting project, but it was certainly worth it. I hope you do enjoy this picture and please let me know what you think of it. Any feedback is appreciated, as long as its not mindless trolling :P
Enjoy!

Well I would love to give it a shot. Though all I can say is that I will open commissions "in the near future", since I dont know when this will be exactly. I still have to sort some stuff out around here, deal a bit with good ol' german bureaucracy and all that. But if anything comes up I'll post it in my journal or drop you a note.
Wow

Vielen Dank nochmal! :3
