I finished a tail for this suit and put up a little movement test. Tail is thick and not quite lion like, but looks and moves well.

well, lions can have big tails, too. :)
looking great! I'd paw at it for sure. ^^
I need to make one myself this weekend, I'm planning to make a "skeleton" out of rolled-up rubberfoam pieces, and add a big thread on the "upper edge" hoping to make it curl up slightly, and maybe even wag a little...
and I need a tutorial for hand-sewing. :P

Oh man, let me know how your movement goes! That is one of my ultimate goals to have a tail move either puppetry or robotics. Luckily, with how big this is I can always trim it down if I decide on trying different internals in the future.
As far as the tail being thick, I need to remember to shave off more foam than I think is sufficient. Works for now!

I surely will. :) I kind of dream of a curled-up tip that would slowly move, but I guess it would need robotics. ideal would be a construction like those plastic snakes you hold up and let move left and right by a move from your wrist, but all ideas on how to make it sound too heavy. or inflexible... plastic tubing might break, a sturdy rubber garden hose might be too heavy and unwieldy. ah., we'll see. :)
