I"m back alone at home so no help from Shia on this one.
This should complete all of the tracks for the album "The College years" Available soon on iTunes or if you're looking at this like months from now, available now!
lyrics :
Feel the earth beneath my feet
heavy paste so sickly sweet but
where were you along the burning meat
flakes of ash to smear the wheat
CHORUS
I’m still standing here
away from the flames
though you feel me near
I couldn’t be more far away
peel the chalky powder pull
waiting ranks sweat through the wool
remind me why my cup’s not full
smash the horns and take the pill
CHORUS
lay back and ignite
there is no wrong from right
styrofoam and gasoline
don’t get it in your eye (repeat)
nothing left to burn
nothing left to melt
nothing left to dry
nothing left is felt
Turn of phrase then off to jail
walk for days skin cloven shale
indeed the right to tip the scale
father blaze extinguished in the hail
CHORUS
I’m still standing here (repeat several times)

This actually reminds me of The Red Hot Chili Peppers at about the time of Blood Sugar Sex Magic (at least the start does). It's the way the singer used to sing some of their stuff I think.
Unless I am going mad.
I like this a lot!! Well done, it's lovely :3 You're getting better as you go along, in the sense of like, pulling all the bits together and such... hope that makes sense!
I think this really flows well :) Nice guitar too! :D!

Oh, I love these songs where you say the most peculiar things, styrofoam and gasoline, don’t get it in your eye... Ha, that was great and unexpected, even after listening to it a few times!
You must bring Shia back though (can't you conjure him, out of a hat or something?), I miss the embellished bass lines! Of course I'm not complaining, I thoroughly enjoyed this! And your harmonizations are always nice and close, a little like ancient medieval ones, but much more modern (because their vocal harmonies always fit within an octave or two, since they were usually written for men only)

This Should be the last song for our group before the next semester so he won't be absent for long.
I'll do things over the summer but they'll be mostly either for fun, or for other people.
Everything I've sung medieval so far has been split into SATB but if you displace the octave than I know exactly what you're talking about.
